We will be starting out at the A.T. crossing on the top of Garden Mountain in Burkes Garden, Tazewell County (elevation 4,000 feet). The hike will go south on the A.T., passing the Beartown Wilderness Area. There are good views of Burkes Garden at two points along the trail. The hike will generally be downhill, ending in Wythe County.
