This AT hike will start southbound from the Mt. Rogers NRA headquarters building on VA-16, cross the south fork of the Holston River around the halfway point. It will then conclude with a 1,200 climb up to High Point. It will pass two shelters along the way. ending at Dickey Gap, VA-16 & VA-650.
