This AT hike begins from Rocky Gap with a short climb to the John’s Creek Mountain trail. We then ridge walk over Kelly’s Knob, pass a trail to a large bog known as Big Pond. At the top of Kelly’s Knob there is a view from a large rock formation. We will pass the Laurel Creek Shelter and Laurel Creek and finally descend through open meadows to Va. 42.
